Medical Advisor, Novartis

1. You were involved with the Alberta MS Network (endMS) during your time as a post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary. For you, what was the most beneficial aspect of the Network?

The most beneficial aspects of the network were the endMS retreats and conferences where we had many opportunities to lead sessions and network with other scientists.

2. Can you tell us a little more about your current position and the work you are doing?

I currently work as medical advisor at a large pharmacy company. In my role amongst many things, I work with a team to design and execute large multi-country clinical trials, as well support researchers with individual research projects that ultimately result in best patient care.

3. Do you have any advice for our trainees?

I am not sure I have any advice, but I will share a few qualities that have lead me down my path of success. These are, always give your best to every project, visibility and networking is key, have the courage to know what is important to you in life and build your work-life around that.

4. Any other information that you would like to share.

Only that, there are many opportunities outside of academia, make sure you explore them all to know what the best career fit might be for you.
